Well, That Was Fun!

Some may not think of Fresno as an ideal destination for a "vacation" weekend. On the other hand, I think it's just great: driving distance from the Bay Area, easy city to navigate, and a nice arena with great local ice cream. It's also a beautiful time of year to be traveling through the Central Valley.
I was delighted to see so many of our fans show up to support the team and attend the games. Some could only come on Saturday, some stayed the weekend, and some came and went on Saturday and then came and went again on Monday. Everywhere you looked, it was clear that the NCAA Western Region was our region.
One of the highlights, as always, was the band send-off, when the band plays in the hotel parking lot while the players assemble near the bus before leaving for the game. Every year this event seems to get better. This year's band surprise was a brass player high in the tree behind us. Other years the tuba players have jumped up on barricades, and so forth. The players dance and mimic the dollies, and the fans do their fan things. An energizing experience perfect for before the game.
Both games went our way, with only a few nervous moments. Fantastic plays from Nneka (as usual), timely 3-pointers from Tinkle, and two free throws from Grace.
We won the west and cut down the net. Take that Carolyn Peck!

Exactly, Ms Peck! That's been burning inside me so thanks for getting it out. I also loved your line about ODU fan apologizing. I was at that game and it still hurts!
